Why are expunged charges showing up on my background report?

Third party background check companies may not receive notice the record has been expunged. Most often times, after an expungement the court will give you a document of a "couple" background check companies that have access to their information. Background check companies buy criminal record data from a number of data collectors, and the information they purchase may not be up to date. This information could've been collected a year before your expungement and is being sold nationwide.
